SPD Scuola Politecnica di Design is the first postgraduate school for design disciplines in Italy, founded in Milan in 1954.
Discover our course's programmes in the field of Design, such as Transportation and Car, Industrial, Interior, Food and Innovation, Visual, Web and Digital, and Event and Exhibition.
SPD is an international laboratory for exchanging experiences, for developing projects by keeping a balance between function and expression, production and experimentation.
Since its foundation, students from all over the world have attended the courses at SPD. Every year on average 60 different nationalities are represented among the community of students, faculty and staff.

TRAINING PROGRAM
The aim of SPD is to prepare each student to be a complete professional in their own design field.
The courses are divided into a theoretical part, consisting of lectures and external visits, and a design part for each teaching area with workshops, held in collaboration with leading design studios and agencies.

FACULTY
At SPD each student is followed individually by a teaching staff composed of designers, professionals from various sectors, and tutors. Many of the most important international names have given lectures in SPD, including Martí Guixé, Patricia Urquiola, Walter de Silva, Ico Migliore, and many others.

WHO IS IT FOR
Teaching is organised in workshops, laboratories, theoretical contributions, seminars and guided tours. The experimental research conducted in collaboration with academic partners such as Volkswagen, Beiersdorf, Poltrona Frau Group, Microsoft, Heineken, Alfa Romeo, and Alias is a central experience in SPD.

Milan is the world capital of design and fashion, the ideal place for young people and talent, with museums, architectural monuments, hotels and designer showrooms. A city where fashion, design, architecture, art, communication and industrial know-how form an incredibly close and available capital.
